## About this wine

Created in 2014 as a collaboration between Winc and lifestyle brand Yes Way Rosé, Summer Water was crafted to bring a pale, crisp, Provence-style rosé philosophy to California's Central Coast. Designed specifically as an intentional rosé rather than a byproduct of red winemaking, grapes like Grenache and Syrah are grown and harvested explicitly for this wine. Sourced from sustainably managed vineyards across Monterey and Santa Barbara counties, Summer Water became a benchmark for American rosé, earning a spot on Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 list for the 2020 vintage.

## Interesting facts

- Ranked #56 on Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Wines of 2020, making it the top-ranked domestic rosé that year.
- Made using direct pressing of Grenache and Syrah picked specifically for rosé, never using saignée.
- Fermented completely dry with less than 1 gram per liter of residual sugar.

## Food pairing

This dry, high-acidity rosé excels alongside light, fresh, and salty summer fare. The crisp citrus and melon profile cuts through delicate fats like goat cheese and olive oil, while accentuating sweet seafood, light poultry, and fresh summer fruits like watermelon and melon.

## Wine making process

Summer Water is produced using direct pressing (pressurage direct) to minimize skin contact and extract a delicate salmon-pink color, avoiding juice bleeds (saignée) or white-and-red grape blending. Grapes are picked early in the harvest season to preserve high natural acidity and moderate potential alcohol. The wine is fermented 100% in stainless steel tanks and aged briefly before bottling, with no malolactic fermentation or oak exposure to maintain maximum primary fruit expression and freshness.
