## About this wine

Terras De Lantano Albariño is a 100% Albariño from the Rías Baixas DO in Galicia, Spain, produced by Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Cartin. Established in 1977, the winery is situated in the Salnés Valley, cultivating vines over 30 years old in sandy soils. The wine is distinctive for its balanced profile, incorporating a partial malolactic fermentation that lends a unique roundness and lacté quality, while remaining characteristic of the appellation and grape variety.

## Interesting facts

- Albariño's thick skin helps it resist fungal diseases in humid Rías Baixas.
- Vines are sometimes trained on pergolas for better air circulation.
- The Salnés Valley is a prime sub-region within Rías Baixas for quality Albariño.
- 50% of this wine undergoes malolactic fermentation for added complexity.

## Food pairing

The wine's vibrant acidity acts as a refreshing counterpoint to the richness of seafood and fatty elements, while its subtle salinity enhances the natural flavors of the ocean. Citrus and herbal notes in the wine can complement similar elements in dishes.

## Wine making process

The Terras De Lantano Albariño is produced from 100% Albariño grapes. Following harvest, the wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. A significant portion, 50%, is then subjected to malolactic fermentation. The entire volume is subsequently aged on its lees for 12 months, with regular stirring to enhance texture and complexity.
