## About this wine

Hirsch Vineyards is a pioneer of the extreme West Sonoma Coast, founded in 1980 by David Hirsch. Located less than three miles from the Pacific Ocean directly along the San Andreas Fault line, the estate sits at an elevation of 1,600 feet. The Bohan-Dillon cuvée was originally created in 2006 and named after the ridge road leading to the remote estate. Inspired by the traditional village-level wines of Burgundy, it was created to deliver an authentic taste of this unique coastal ridge at an accessible price point.

## Interesting facts

- The label features Bobes, the estate cat who famously survived two rattlesnake bites in 2006.
- The 2024 bottling is historic as the first vintage made exclusively with 100% Hirsch Estate biodynamic fruit.
- Vineyards sit at 1,600 feet elevation on the San Andreas Fault line, just three miles from the Pacific Ocean.

## Food pairing

The high acidity, fine chalky tannins, and energetic structure of this cool-climate Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir pair seamlessly with savory, earthy dishes like wild mushrooms, while complementing lean duck, salmon, and roasted white meats without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

The 2024 vintage of The Bohan-Dillon marks a historical milestone as the first release crafted entirely from 100% Hirsch Estate biodynamic grapes. The vines supplying this wine average 20 to 30 years of age, rooted in shallow sandstone and clay soils. Grapes were entirely hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in small open-top temperature-controlled fermenters. The wine matured in French oak barrels (27% new) before bottling in June 2025.
