## About this wine

The Hermit Crab 2022 is a white wine from d'Arenberg in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The Hermit Crab is a blend of Viognier and Marsanne, reflecting the unique terroir of McLaren Vale.

## Wine making process

The Hermit Crab 2022 is produced by crushing the Viognier and Marsanne grapes and fermenting them in small batches at moderately cool temperatures to retain fruit characteristics. Approximately 4% of the wine undergoes wild fermentation for added complexity. A portion of the Viognier (10%) and the Marsanne component are fermented and aged in seasoned French oak for eight months to enhance mouthfeel and tannin structure. The final wine is a blend of these components.
