## About this wine

Founded in 1897 by the Oria de Rueda family, Bodegas Torre Oria is located in the Utiel-Requena region of Valencia, Spain. Originally active in the silk industry, the family transitioned to winemaking, building a beautiful modernist estate. Torre Oria was the first winery outside the Penedès region to be permitted to produce Cava, but they are also highly regarded for their still wines. This Crianza represents a classic expression of the region's terroir, combining traditional Spanish winemaking heritage with modern quality standards.

## Interesting facts

- Founded in 1897, the winery was originally built by a family of silk merchants before they transitioned to winemaking.
- Torre Oria was the first winery located outside of the Catalonia region to be officially allowed to produce Cava.
- The estate features a distinctive modernist palace designed by a disciple of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí.

## Food pairing

This medium-bodied Crianza features balanced acidity and moderate tannins, making it highly versatile. It pairs beautifully with roasted or grilled meats, where the wine's structure cuts through the fat, and savory, earthy dishes like mushrooms or cured cheeses that complement its subtle oak and spice notes.

## Wine making process

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 6 months (as required by Crianza regulations in Utiel-Requena), followed by further aging in the bottle to achieve a harmonious balance between fruit and oak characteristics.
