## About this wine

Tubarão Pet-Nat is produced by Tubarão Vinhos, founded by Ricardo Garrido alongside winemaker Márcio Lopes in the Minho region of Portugal. The estate focuses on restoring historic Campos de Masseira vineyards along the Atlantic coast of Póvoa de Varzim. Originally created in the 18th century by Benedictine monks, these vineyard pits are excavated into coastal sand dunes, with vines planted on raised surrounding banks to protect them from ocean winds.

## Interesting facts

- Grown in 18th-century Benedictine dune depressions known as Campos de Masseira.
- Co-fermented as a traditional palhete style combining red and white grapes.
- Made with low intervention and natural bubbles formed inside the bottle.

## Food pairing

High Atlantic acidity and fine effervescence cut cleanly through rich oils in grilled sardines while enhancing delicate raw seafoods like oysters and ceviche without masking their ocean flavors.

## Wine making process

Crafted via the Ancestral Method as a traditional Portuguese palhete, white and red grapes are co-harvested and directly pressed. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with wild yeasts without added sulfites or adjustments. The wine finishes fermentation inside the bottle to generate natural effervescence. It is softly filtered and disgorged to remove heavy sediment while preserving a rustic, slightly hazy character.
