## About this wine

Turley Wine Cellars is celebrated worldwide for its heritage Zinfandel and Petite Syrah bottlings, but Sauvignon Blanc holds a historic place in the estate's lineage. First produced by founder Larry Turley in 1993, the wine was reintroduced decades later from dry-farmed, head-trained vines planted at the Turley Estate in St. Helena. Sourced from heritage Napa Valley budwood and farmed organically, this small-production white reflects the winery's commitment to historic California viticulture and site-driven winemaking.

## Interesting facts

- Larry Turley revived estate Sauvignon Blanc specifically to pair with fresh raw oysters.
- The vines are dry-farmed and head-trained using heritage Napa Valley budwood in St. Helena.
- Fermentation is split equally across neutral oak puncheons, barriques, stainless steel, and concrete egg.

## Food pairing

The bright natural acidity and clean minerality of this Sauvignon Blanc cut effortlessly through rich or briny seafood while complementing fresh herbs, tangy goat cheeses, and vibrant citrus-based dressings.

## Wine making process

The grapes are 100% hand-harvested from certified organic, dry-farmed estate vines in St. Helena. Fermentation is conducted using 100% native yeasts with 50% partial malolactic conversion. For the 2024 vintage, maturation is divided equally across four distinct vessels: neutral French oak puncheons (500L), neutral French oak barriques (225L), stainless steel tanks, and concrete eggs (25% each). The wine matures for 7 months prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
