## About this wine

Founded in 1981 by Ugo Lequio in Neive, the estate established its reputation through small-quantity, high-quality production centered around the renowned Gallina cru. Today, Ugo's daughter Serena and son-in-law Andrea continue the estate legacy alongside oenologists Gianfranco Cordero and Mattia Malabaila. This Langhe Nebbiolo is sourced from estate parcels in Neive and historical vineyard sites in Treiso, offering an early-drinking, vibrant perspective on Piedmont's noble Nebbiolo grape.

## Interesting facts

- Sourced from the prestigious Gallina cru in Neive, famed for top-tier Barbaresco.
- Strictly limited production of roughly 4,400 bottles per vintage.
- Aged in traditional 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak casks to maintain fruit purity.

## Food pairing

Nebbiolo's elevated natural acidity and firm tannic structure require dishes rich in fat and savory proteins. Animal fats and aged cheeses soften tannin perception, while butter and truffle enhance the wine's delicate floral and earthly notes.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes are grown on limestone-clay marl and sandy soils at altitudes between 170 and 400 meters. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 25°C to 28°C for 6 to 7 days. Soft extraction is managed through regular pump-overs and a mid-fermentation délestage. The wine matures for 5 to 6 months in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak casks and neutral French oak barrels before bottling, with an annual production of around 4,400 bottles.
