## About this wine

Produced by Clos Mont-Blanc in the Barberà de la Conca region of Catalonia, Spain, the 'Únic' collection highlights single-variety expressions. The estate, founded in 1988 by the Carbonell Figueras family, draws on a 300-year winemaking heritage near the historic Poblet Monastery. Under the guidance of head enologist Josep Vadrí, the winery crafts wines that balance structural oak with clean varietal fruit, capturing the unique high-altitude terroir of the Miramar Range.

## Interesting facts

- The winery is located near the medieval walled town of Montblanc and the historic Poblet Monastery.
- Winemaker Josep Vadrí has global experience, having vinified in France, Chile, and Australia.
- The 'Únic' range is designed to showcase the singular expression of a single grape variety under Catalan terroir.

## Food pairing

This barrel-fermented Chardonnay possesses a rich, creamy texture, medium-plus body, and vibrant acidity. It pairs beautifully with dishes that match its weight and texture, such as roasted poultry, rich seafood in butter or cream sauces, and aged cheeses. The wine's toasted oak and hazelnut notes complement roasted and caramelized flavors, while its acidity cuts through rich fats.

## Wine making process

The Chardonnay grapes are harvested from estate vineyards and immediately transported to the winery. Fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels from Nevers, Tronçais, and Allier. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in these same barrels and is subsequently aged on its lees for three to four months before bottling, adding creaminess and structural complexity.
