## About this wine

Founded in 1875 by Dr. Robert Weil in Kiedrich, Weingut Robert Weil is one of the premier estates in the Rheingau region of Germany, managed by fourth-generation owner Wilhelm Weil. 'Up In The Air' is a special cuvée created to commemorate the historic 1929 round-the-world voyage of the LZ 127 Zeppelin airship, which famously carried Dr. Robert Weil Riesling on board. This edition reflects the estate's high-altitude hillside vineyards on the Taunus Ridge, rooted in stony phyllite slate and quartzite soils.

## Interesting facts

- Created to honor the 1929 LZ 127 Zeppelin airship voyage, which served Robert Weil Riesling onboard.
- Developed as a travel exclusive cuvée in collaboration with Lufthansa First Class and Heinemann.
- Vineyard soils feature rare stony phyllite slate and quartzite along steep Taunus Ridge slopes.

## Food pairing

High, vibrant acidity and refined mineral drive cut cleanly through seafood, light poultry, and fresh cheeses, highlighting citrus accents while refreshing the palate.

## Wine making process

Sourced from 100% organically certified estate vineyards harvested selectively by hand across multiple passes. The grapes are moved using vibrating carts and gravity-fed into presses to prevent skin breakage before gentle pressing and static cold settling. Fermentation takes place over six to twelve weeks in temperature-controlled vessels using ambient indigenous yeasts when possible. The wine matures in a combination of stainless steel tanks and traditional 2,400-liter Rheingau neutral oak barrels (Doppelstückfass).
