## About this wine

Marie et Vincent Tricot is a natural wine estate situated in Orcet, Puy-de-Dôme, in France's Auvergne region. Vincent Tricot learned winemaking in Beaujolais during the early 1990s, studying under Patrick Coton and learning natural wine philosophies from legends like Marcel Lapierre and Jules Chauvet. Attracted by the unique volcanic basalt soils and old vine holdings of Auvergne, Vincent and his wife Marie relocated in 2002 to create high-altitude, low-intervention wines.

## Interesting facts

- Vincent Tricot trained under natural wine pioneers Marcel Lapierre and Jules Chauvet in Beaujolais.
- The estate has been bottled entirely without added sulfites since the 2011 vintage.
- Vineyards are situated at 400 meters elevation on volcanic basalt and marl soils in Orcet.

## Food pairing

This vibrant natural rosé pairs brilliantly with lighter dishes due to its refreshing high acidity and delicate red fruit profile. The savory volcanic core and slight texture harmonize well with tangy tomato sauces, goat cheese, and cured meats without overwhelming the palate.

## Wine making process

The cuvée combines 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Gamay d'Auvergne from certified organic vineyards. The Pinot Noir undergoes a brief direct maceration, while the Gamay is direct-pressed. Spontaneous fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stoneware jars, neutral oak barrels, and fiberglass vessels. The wines are aged for several months before blending, bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfites.
