## About this wine

Quinta da Raza is a historic Portuguese estate dating back to 1769 in the Vinho Verde region. Today, eighth-generation winemaker Diogo Teixeira Coelho runs the property alongside his wife Mafalda. Located in the inland Basto sub-region near Celorico de Basto, the estate sits on granite soils along the Tâmega River basin. Vicinus Branco showcases indigenous grape varieties cultivated under certified sustainable viticulture.

## Interesting facts

- Quinta da Raza has been family-owned and operated since 1769, spanning eight generations.
- The inland Basto sub-region has a warmer continental climate, ideal for ripening the indigenous Azal grape.
- The estate integrates sustainable viticulture alongside native livestock like Bísaro pigs.

## Food pairing

The electric acidity and crisp citrus profile of this Vinho Verde harmonize with light, fresh seafood and raw preparations. High acidity cuts through goat cheese and light oils while remaining crisp alongside subtle herbs.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates from estate vineyards in the Basto sub-region. After arrival at the winery, fruit is de-stemmed and cold-pressed at low pressure. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine undergoes aging in stainless steel tanks for several months prior to bottling to preserve natural freshness and fruit vibrancy.
