## About this wine

Vicoletto Catarratto is a distinctive orange wine from Rallo Azienda Agricola, a family-run estate with a long history in western Sicily. Produced from 100% Catarratto grapes grown in the high-altitude hills of Alcamo, the wine embodies a modern approach to traditional winemaking. The Vesco family champions certified organic viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar, aiming to capture the essence of the Sicilian terroir. This project highlights the expressive potential of the native Catarratto grape, offering an accessible entry point into the world of orange wines.

## Interesting facts

- An orange wine made with minimal intervention.
- Grapes grown on sandy soils in high-altitude vineyards.
- Fermented with wild, indigenous yeasts.
- Bottled unfined, unfiltered, with very low or no added sulphur.

## Food pairing

The wine's lively acidity cuts through richer dishes and complements tomato-based sauces. Its herbal notes harmonize with Mediterranean herbs, while the subtle tannins provide a good counterpoint to proteins and cheeses.

## Wine making process

Vicoletto Catarratto is produced using a minimal intervention approach. After a gentle pressing, 90% of the Catarratto juice ferments in stainless steel without skins. The remaining 10% undergoes a 12-day skin maceration, contributing to the wine's color and structure. Fermentation is driven by indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged in stainless steel to preserve its freshness. It is bottled without fining or filtration and with very low or no added sulphur, emphasizing purity and terroir expression.
