Have a notebook full of wine tasting notes? Turn your handwritten wine history into a spreadsheet with the help of ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, without typing everything yourself.
Step 1: Photograph or scan your notebook
Take clear photos of every page containing wine notes, or scan the pages into a PDF.
Make sure the handwriting is readable and all pages are included.
Step 2: Upload your notes to an AI tool
Choose whichever tool you prefer:
Upload your photos or PDF. If you have many pages, upload them in batches and ask the tool to wait until you've uploaded everything.
Step 3: Copy and paste this prompt
Ask the AI tool to organise your handwritten notes into a CSV file.
Please transcribe all the wine notes in my uploaded notebook pages into a downloadable CSV file. Create one row per tasting entry, with these columns: - Wine name - Producer - Vintage - Grape variety - Country and region - Date tasted - My rating and rating scale - Aroma and nose notes - Palate and flavour notes - Finish notes - Overall tasting notes - Food pairing - Additional notes - Notebook page number Preserve my original wording and ratings. Do not invent missing information or guess illegible handwriting. Leave unknown fields blank and flag anything unclear for me to review. Keep separate tasting occasions as separate rows. Check that all uploaded pages are included, and tell me how many tasting entries you found. Create a downloadable UTF-8 CSV file. If you cannot create a file, provide the complete CSV text so I can save it as a CSV file myself.
Step 4: Review and send your file
Check the CSV against your original notes, then email it to hey@swirlyourwines.com.
